Battle Stations; Part 2

Part II
B) Joshua’s part -
“Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies, Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.”
(Joshua 10: 12-14)
Though God could have slain them all, He left Israel their share of the fight. After all, He HAD told THEM to go up and possess the land and destroy the inhabitants.
Joshua saw how great their victory was - yet he wanted to ensure total victory. He would not allow this opportunity that God had given them slip away into the night. He needed more time to finish the job. He didn’t ask God in prayer for more time. In complete faith he COMMANDED the sun and moon to stay still - to give light to complete their task. This is the amazing part; God obeyed the command of a man (v. 14)!!
Israel and God were soldiers together on the battlefield that day (the longest day in the history of Earth as we know it!!) They fought and worked side by side to get the job done!
Oh, the glorious and powerful truth to know in your heart, that God is with you in your struggle!!

Romans 8: 16-17 -> John 15: 15 -> John 14: 12
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
