Here is my update #2:My hair is now at 39 inches, with 13 inches of new growth. Since
January 4th's post, my hair has grown
1 inch! If it stays at this rate, I could have 7 inches of new growth by year's end. That would put me close to what it was at its longest;
50 inches in 2005 before my perms.
I've been doing more coconut oil treatments and it has helped me not lose so much of my permed portion in breakage. I did a post on the treatments with photos and you can find that
here.

I really need to do this treatment. My hair is long. How do you measure it?
I saw your hair on your blog and WOW! It is beautiful!
I measure from the middle of my head on top down from the back to the ends. I then also measure my new growth and that is easy because I just measure it up until I get to the permed portion of my hair! My new growth is now 13 inches, so the rest is permed and the growing out a perm task is frustrating to say the least but I'm surviving! ;)
