Not much to update this week with my hair. I didn't use any heat on my hair this week and have been letting it air dry with the Garnier Fructis Leave-in conditioner. I missed this week's coconut oil treatment but may do it tonight because my ends look pretty dry.Sunflower Faith talked about using Olive Oil in her hair and I have tried this a few times before. It does work but I find its more expensive then the coconut oil. I would imagine they work the same. Anyone else use a different oil than coconut? I've heard of using jojoba oil and mayonnaise...though mayonnaise simply works for the fact that it has oil in it! ; ) I guess if you want to slather your hair with mayo, go ahead......I tried it before and didn't like the result.
We had a "hair party" today and I got permission to share some photos of this Sister's hair...it is beautiful!!

Wow! Her hair looks SUPER healthy! Very inspiring and encouraging; Going to try the olive oil tonight but we'll see how long that lasts..lol
My hair seems softer with the coconut oil and as you mention, more cost effective, particularly these days.
I've heard suggested almond oil, but not sure how effective (or inexpensive) that would be.
Yes her hair is beautiful! :) I think its been 5 years since she cut her hair, I'm going on 10 years but with the perms I've gotten, it just made it shorter.

Wow. Her hair looks so beautiful and healthy! I did the coconut oil treatment yesterday morning in my hair and washed it out this morning. My hair feels so different, it has more body and is very soft now. I have tried the olive oil treatment in my hair once before, but I didn't like it. My sister does the mayo treatment and she loves it.
Thanks for the comment Nikki! :) So glad that your hair worked with the coconut oil! I did try the mayo but I guess it was the smell that discouraged me hehe.....I do know some that use it and like it though.

I know! I was just talking to her on the phone and told her about all the comments about her hair! :)

Beautiful hair!
I've used mayo, olive and coconut oil. I like jojoba the best but a little goes a long way.
Just squirt a teaspoonful of aloe vera gel in your hand. Put the palm of your hand over the opening of the jojoba, turn the bottle over and mix the trace of jojoba clinging to your hand with the aloe. Scrunch it into the ends of your hair and let it dry.
I've never tried aloe very gel in my hair, how does it work for you? Thanks for the comment Sabine! :)

Wow, her hair is very pretty. I'm curious, what is a hair party? Also, I have short hair, and was wondering about the coconut oil on my own hair. Would it make a difference? Also, I've never seen coconut oil in my grocery or walmart, where else might I find it or the jojoba oil?
Yes it would work on yours too, make it softer, etc. With the environmental damage on our hair, it would help keep it conditioned and prevent breakage.
A hair party is just a name I came up with yesterday lol. We had planned to get together to do hair and so thus 'hair party'. :)
Coconut oil will be right near the olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil......the cooking oil aisle. The jojoba is in the hair care section I think but I have never bought it before, so not sure about that one!
