Hate-Crime Bill

I came across this story today and wondered how such an absurd bill could even be thought up, but then again we have a demoncratic majority in the White House, so shouldn't be such a shock to anyone.  If you say or preach that homosexuals are bad, it might soon be a 'hate-crime' and you could be breaking the law.  You can read the full story here:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/30/social-conservatives-blast-hate-crime-saying-limit-free-speech/

What's next?  A hate-crime law protecting murderers and pedophiles?  Sin is Sin - and it is wrong according to God and God ain't going to shut up for anyone!  His Word condemns sin such as homosexuality and it won't change no matter what the government decides.  It is the sin that God hates, not the people.  It is the sin we preach against.

I wonder how many preachers would compromise and not preach against it?  I guess God would really be sorting the chaff from the wheat - the test just may be ahead. Let the real Stephen's stand up!  I don't think Stephen was worried about who he offended and he sure wasn't like some preacher's today who don't want to preach against sin because they don't want to upset anyone.  Go ahead and try not to offend them right into hell.  Hell is going to be full of people that the preacher didn't want to offend by telling them they were wrong. A real Godly preacher will scream and tell you the road is out ahead!  He will warn you that if you go that way, you will die!  He shows his love for you by telling you the truth!  Read Acts 7 and after his sermon - you see the effect it had on the people because their deeds were evil, let's look at see:

Acts 7:54,57-58

When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him:

They couldn't stand the preacher man preaching against their sin. They wanted to shut him up!  Just like the homosexuals want people to shut up across our land because they don't want you calling them out in their sin. It reminds me of a recent sermon that Pastor Davis preached called "Stop the Sermon". It gets uncomfortable when God gets on your sin and its supposed to be that way - its called conviction! God hopes you will repent. You will either repent or get mad and keep on doing your sin.

Now we have these abusers of themselves with mankind getting mad at those who dare speak against their sin and evil hearts. God has something to say about it in His word:

Romans 1:26-28

God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

They left the NATURAL USE of each other and BURNED IN THEIR LUST one toward another!  It is VILE......it is sickening!  They weren't born that way, they burned in their lust and CHOSE that way!  God gave us an example of what happens when a city is turned over homesexuality - we all know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and to this day, it is in ruins:

Great Bev !
I am worried out pastor will not preach against this..
we had a couple who were living together , with his and her kids.. then they had two kids together, but still no marriage.
one sunday they weren't there.. and the minister pointed to their seats and said "their sin is a sin of the heart.. and can be changed.. but you that sin in other ways,, can NOT ! "
I thought , Great.. if it can be changed. why not make an effort to do so. rather then yell at us ? I didn't get his logic ..
the family moves around a lot .. and so moved in jan. See.. they moved on.. and NO one , not our youth pastor , not our pastor mentioned their sin to them.. Both ministers felt it would come to them in time..
TIME ? no one is sure of their time !

Thanks for sharing Lisa! That is sad and you mean he never even preached on fornication and told what it was? Believe it or not, there are really some people out there who don't know fornication means and then some didn't know the Bible says not to. I had a roommate in the military who thought I was joking when I said it was in the Bible. I showed her and she sat and read it on my couch and then screamed and left the Bible on the couch and went to her room and cried from what I remember. It was heart breaking because she had no idea.

One thing I love about my church is the fact that I know my Pastor is really watching out for my soul. Just as a shepherd prods the sheep together and if he sees one going away, he pulls them back into the fold. That is much the way mine is and I'm grateful for that.

Hey, you are always welcome to attend one of our churches lol. =0 We all preach the same and they have them all over the US and World. Just a thought!

NO.. he Never preached about it while they were there.. ! We believe in Babtism & then you can take communion. Well this couple was giving it to their BABY !
They were friendly and the older kids were great.. I hated to see them move to the city and all that cities offer kids :(
we were VERY irriiated with the minister tho. He acted as tho we shunned them and mistreated them ! hardly !
We still felt it was HIS place to talk to them !
our church just celebrated it's 125th anniv.
which we are very proud of :-)
We have been there since 1960.
It just seems things change with new pastors .

Things do change with new Pastors I have learned and there will always be differences but hopefully they all preach the same message! lol I've been through 5 (one being my Dad). My Dad's message was right in salvation but wrong in other areas, but God led me to the truth and I've learned over time through lessons/trials that Pastors are human too and they make mistakes and we need to give them the room to make those and understand they are not perfect (JUST LIKE US lol). However, they should not waver on preaching against sin and should live righteously! They are held to a higher standard and God requires more from them.

If a church isn't preaching the right message, then its up to you to find one that is. It's never good to tell a Pastor how to do his job or what he is doing wrong, I don't think that is our place but God's. The Bible tells him to preach against it and if he doesn't - its on him and he has to give an account.

There is a woman I know back home that every church she goes to she says she feels it is her calling to tell the Pastor what she feels he needs to do differently. My Dad just lets it go in one ear and out the other lol. No strange thing that this lady is living in Sin and is not saved but one of those "spiritual" diva's. Oh well.....God sure didn't call her to do that LOL! So who does that leave?
