*Mom is now home from the hospital and resting! It was her neck as we suspected below and the doctor did recommend surgery but mom isn't sure she is going to go that route.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the prayers for my mom! She did not have a stroke thank the Lord!! They haven't completely ruled out a mini stroke but those don't show up on the tests. She still hasn't received a diagnosis from the hospital doctor and is still in there. However, her regular neurologist reviewed her symptoms and scans (MRI, CT-scan, etc.) and "thinks" it is linked to her cervical spinal stenosis. She has had cervical spinal stenosis for a while now and had a dangerous surgery last year to open the area that was compressing her spine in the neck area. It went well but she started having pain really bad in her neck this past week and then was falling sideways yesterday and going numb in her legs and dizzy. The neurologist thinks it could be because she moved some heavy furniture around in her house a few weeks ago and she isn't supposed to do that. She could have really messed things up in her neck. From what I gathered - something is pressing on her spine and brain in the neck area causing the receptors to not reach the legs, and thus, she goes numb and can't walk.
However.....the hospital doctor hasn't said anything yet, the tests were late getting back - it took them till this afternoon to get the results and the doctor hasn't made a diagnosis yet. Just wanted to update that it was not a stroke - at least not the kind that shows up.
