Update on Health

I just got home from spending 2 days in the hospital for a kidney infection (pyelonephritis), which is my 5th infection this pregnancy.  Crazy I know but I'm finally feeling alive and better and not that deathly ill feeling.  What happened was, my bladder infection that was being treated didn't get treated with the antibiotic I took for 7 days, so it turned into a kidney infection.  They gave me super antibiotics that killed the infection over 2 days and 5 bags of IV fluid that helped flush my system.  They wanted me to take narcotics for the pain, but I just suffered because, even though they say it is "safe" for the baby, I just don't believe that.  I did end up taking a small dose of Tylenol though because I needed some relief.

They want me to stay on low-dose antibiotics the rest of the pregnancy until delivery but I'm not sure I will take the pills.  One reason is that I'm concerned about the babies immune system not having any "good" bacteria to fight infection when he is born, another is how those pills make me feel!  They said I could refuse to take them but I may get another kidney infection.  I'm going to pray about it and go from there.

Thank you for all the prayers and keep them coming for my continued health and for the baby to make it till the end and be healthy!!

I have so been praying for you and the baby and wish for you to feel better sooner than later.

I also would be a little hesitant about taking any medication during pregnancy.

Keep us all posted and we will continue with our prayers.
