Hair Curled with Small Barrel Curling Iron

I've shared my hair curled with curlers and a regular size curling iron, but I haven't shown it done with my small barrel curling iron. I only curl the permed portion of my hair - so from the shoulders up its my new growth. I use a curling iron that I have had for at least 10 years! It doesn't give too much heat but enough to set a curl, so my hair doesn't really get damaged with this one and I will share more about it in the Hair Tools post coming up.

I did a photo with the flash and without, so you can you see how it hides the perm perfectly! Since my hair was permed with a tight winding spiral, using the small barrel curling iron fits with the permed wave creating a better look. I curled my hair a few hours before taking the photo and was out in the rain, so the curls aren't as tight as they were before the rain! (click photo to enlarge)

Wow, how long did that take? I've been using the coconut oil on my hair and I'm very happy with it, thanks for the tips! My family says that it makes my hair stink for a day or two after. I think it's just a hair product that they are smelling, but they insist. Any thoughts on this? I've also been using it in some of my cooking in place of Olive oil. I've read that its good for promoting weight loss, not sure if that's true or not, but I'll take all the help I can get. :)

Just about 25 minutes! Are you using the brand LouAnn? Mine doesn't have a smell to it and my hair doesn't either. If you are using LouAnn oil, and it stinks, then I guess you could do what I do if I sweat or workout and don't have time to wash my hair - spray it with body spray hehe. ;) Hey if it helps you lose weight, let me know!!!

I'm not using the LouAnn as I can't find it. I've looked in about 6 different grocery stores including Super Walmart. No luck! I'm using Spectrum Naturals organic coconut oil. It has no smell to it whatsoever. I think it's just the power of suggestion! They think its crazy so they find something wrong with it. :)

Crissy - Ok, well I just use the LouAnn's, so maybe you are right, they just think about it and smell it hehe. ~Bev
