I'm working on restoring the images that were lost on my blog

Remain Faithful - God Always Provides!

We have lived our lives the past 5 years with the Biblical principles of being good stewards of the money that God has given us.  We pay our tithes, give in offerings and live as a lender, not a borrower (also known as debt-free; Proverbs 22:7).  Medical bills seem to be something that you just can't escape these days but as most turn to the government to pay their bills, we felt like God wanted us to pay what we owed.  I'm not saying it is wrong to take Medicaid, but I am saying that unless you are disabled or truly unable to pay for your own medical care, you shouldn't take others' money to pay your bills.  I know there are many that do this and they buy iPhones, new cars every few years and new clothes every month - they are stealing from others so they can have money to pay for their greed.  That shouldn't be named even once among Christians right?

We had almost completely paid off our medical bills from my c-section, when my son's health and mine racked up $53,846 in medical bills the past 4 months.  Sure we had insurance but it seemed like hope was gone as the costs to us was going to be past $10K.  I called my pastor and asked him for advice and to pray.  The talk came up about the possibility of having to put these bills on a credit card that was interest-free for 15 months.  However, we don't want to touch credit cards ever again.  The insurance company said that no one pre-certified my hospital stay and that under the new laws, it meant that my hospital stay would not be covered.  We were going to be responsible for $30-$40K!  It seemed like a hopeless situation.........but then God moved!

I started speaking faith instead of doom and gloom.  I started claiming our blessing.  I told God that I didn't want to turn to a credit card because He owned it all and could help us.  Things started working out.  Payment plans became available.  And the biggest one of all - the hospital decided to bill my 3-day hospital stay as an OUTPATIENT bill and that didn't need to be pre-certified and we only owe $400!  Yes, $400 not $40,000!!  All together, we only owe less than $5,000 out of $53,846 - God is a provider friends!

I'm sharing this to show you that if you remain faithful to God - He will always provide!  He can't lie:

Malachi 3:10

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

  1. I'm a little upset by the comment about Medicare but then I took a deep breath and realized where you were coming from. I am on Medicare and Social Security due to my Kidney transplant, diabetes, and chronic pain. When I got my transplant my husband had insurance but it only covered 80% we had to sell our home to pay for the rest because my sister donated her Kidney we also had to pay all of her medical bills. My anti rejection meds are $ 3000.00 for one and$1200.00 for the other. I worked for many years my husband has worked since he was 16 and he is now 59.And now on Friday I broke my ankle so there will be another bill but I thank God for my Medicare.

Oh tealady, I was in no way talking about or against MediCARE - I was referring to MediCAID, they are two very different programs. I'm very supportive of Medicare for the elderly, it is something we all pay into through our jobs or our husband's jobs and then when we reach 65, we are able to use it.

MediCAID is for low-income people to provide paid medical. However, it is only intended for those who truly need it or are disabled. It is also supposed to be temporary until you can financially pay for your medical bill by working. So many people abuse it though - those who are able to afford to pay their bills, don't, but rather use the money they would have spent on medical to buy wants. Those that it is intended for are families whose income may have been lost temporarily, single mothers or fathers and disabled people. If we could keep it to those needy people, it would save us all from having to pay so many taxes.

MediCAID is an entitlement program - or in other words - welfare.

So please understand that this was a misunderstanding!! ;-)

**I also wanted to say that this new Obamacare fiasco is leading us all into not being able to afford insurance. Ours is going up every year but we make adjustments to pay for it. However, once it reaches a certain amount, we will not be able to "afford" it anymore. All of this is the Obama administration's way of ushering in the Single-Payer system, which goes against everything that America has ever stood for.

Also wanted to say tealady that I'm so sorry about your kidney issue and ankle!! Said a prayer for you! :-) You are the type of people who the program is meant for. I'm sure you would be upset if your neighbor was sitting around at 25 playing games and getting free medical, free housing and food - right? Or, is that just me? LOL I know you can see where I'm coming from!!

  4. I understand what you are saying because I have a brother who is an alcoholic doesn't work get's an apartment free a free cell phone food stamps and health care ,While my son who is 31 works full time goes to school full time a not can not afford health care .It makes me sick, it says to love thy brother but he makes it really hard. I have had to cut him out of a large part of my life. He lived with me from the time he was 15-21 and I have helped him out so many times he is no 46. So I understand what you mean. Thank-you for the prayer, I really need it.

I am happy to hear about the bill of yours to be dropped down. Funny how it appears that some who work so hard and always seem not to be able to get ahead and others sit back and do nothing and seem to get it all.Sorry to hear things didn't work out as you had hoped with the R.V. but God has his plans and we think we have ours.LOL

Well there you go, seems we like we all know someone abusing the system. Sometimes it takes tough love and sometimes some never change unfortunately.

It is sad that it seems those who do right are punished in some ways - but, there is coming a day when we will be rewarded! God has more than we can imagine in our earthly minds awaiting us and will make all this look like NOTHING!! ;-)

Thank you Twocans and Tealady! ;-)

  8. Anonymous3:37 PM

He may not come when you want Him, but He'll be there RIGHT ON TIME!!! Oh yes, He's an on time God!! ;-) Thanks Chrissy!
