My Baby is an Adult, Recipes and Other News

My daughter turned 18 and I'm still having a hard time with that lol.  My baby is an adult!  What a wonderful woman of God she has become and that is my greatest joy.  I found this awesome birthday kit that came with everything to decorate for cheap and she loved it!  I, of course, crowned her an adult!

She asked for her favorite meal, Chicken Divan, so I made that on her birthday:

In other news, you may remember how I organized all my paper recipes into a large binder in this post.  Well, that didn't work so well for too long and was a hassle to get the big thing out!  So, I broke them down into 3 smaller binders and that's working so much better.

I made a batch of our favorite granola (oats, coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts, pecans, hemp seeds, maple syrup, peanut butter and vanilla).  I like mine in soy yogurt and my son loves it in milk as a cereal, it's also just good by itself as a quick snack!

One of my favorite lunches is Naan bread warmed with hummus spread over it, grilled chicken, cucumber and lettuce.

I tried another recipe, No-Layer Lasagna Casserole, out of the IP Bible cookbooks and it was so good and easy!  Definitely a keeper.

I made an older meal I've made before - Creamy Chicken and Rice Skillet:

I tried a new recipe and it was delicious - Pumpkin Crunch Cake:

My daughter wanted to make the neighbors dinner, so she cooked up some one pot spaghetti:

We had a fellowship of a total of 14 people at our house, and I made Gingerbread Cake with caramel icing that I've made before and we all enjoyed.

And in other adventures, I decided to wash an old rug but it decided to disintegrate in the washing machine!  Seriously - it was literally disintegrating and took us a while to clean up.  Needless to say, I bought another rug and almost looks the same but a different design and was just $22 at Walmart.

Since my daughter mostly does the dishes and takes longer to do them than I do, she wanted something better to stand on for her feet, so I saw this memory foam mat that has high claims, so we will see if it helps.
